Cornerstone Mustang Program
Corner Stone Mustangs are built from the ground up with patience and purpose and zero pressure to meet a deadline. This program gives each horse a voice. It gives them the freedom to learn at their own pace. Just like people, mustangs grow and process things differently. Training is tailored to the individual and not the calendar.
Every mustang in the program is hand picked from the corrals based on temperament and potential. After evaluating each horse and learning what you are looking for in a partner, we match you with the right mustang. We customize their training to fit your goals.
You are involved every step of the way. When it is time to take your horse home, you are both confident and connected and ready to thrive together.

Cornerstone Mustang Criteria
- Halter broke; Leads, Ties
- Haltered in small pen or pasture
- Picks up all 4 feet
- Stands for Farrier, Vet, other Equine Practitioners
- Stands for baths and being groomed
- Walk, Trot, Lope under saddle
- Backs up in hand & under saddle
- Side passes in hand & under saddle
- Haunch & Forehand turn
- Opens Gate
- Ridden on trails
- Drags object in hand and under saddle
-Goes over obstacles ( bridge, tarp, log, etc.)
-Handled by multiple people
- Lunge and round pens
- Pick you up from mounting block
Time Frame
Typically to build a solid foundation it takes 6-12 months. Some learn quicker than others and that is okay! We let the horses have voices and build them up off of their time line and don’t create one for them. This way we don’t create holes in their foundation and they stay, communicative, and know they have a voice!

- Grass hay fed through slow feeding hay net, giving them access to hay all day
